Contractor Claims Can't Trump Time Limits, Fed. Circ. Says

Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 7:41 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Thursday overturned an award of damages to a flooring company that sued the U.S. government over unpaid bills, saying in a precedential opinion that there are no exceptions to a statute of limitations on such contract claims.

Kentucky-based FloorPro Inc. last year triumphed in a $40,000 case that marked a rare legal victory against Uncle Sam for a subcontractor, which typically can sue only if it's clear they were an intended third-party beneficiary of a government pact with a prime contractor....
