High Court Seeks More Info On FTC, Ga. Hospital Merger Fight

Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 8:35 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court asked Palmyra Park Hospital Inc. on Wednesday to respond to the Federal Trade Commission's bid to have the justices hear a dispute over whether its merger with Phoebe Putney Health System Inc. should be shielded from antitrust scrutiny.

The high court requested that Palmyra and its former owner HCA Inc., one of the nation’s largest health care service providers, respond to the FTC's certiorari petition by June 29.
