House Group Tells 9th Circ. To Uphold DOMA In Benefits Suit

Law360, New York (June 5, 2012, 9:34 PM EDT) -- On the heels of a First Circuit decision deeming the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional, a congressional group defending the law kicked off Monday its appeal to the Ninth Circuit of a California federal judge's rejection of the law, saying the judge scrutinized DOMA under too strict a standard.
