Authors Say DOJ's E-Book Antitrust Deal Favors Amazon

Law360, New York (June 5, 2012, 2:35 PM EDT) -- The Authors Guild on Monday decried the U.S. Department of Justice's proposed settlement with three major publishers accused of colluding with Apple Inc. to fix electronic book prices, saying the deal would allow Inc. to renew its dominance over the e-book market.

The guild, a professional group for published authors based in New York, released a statement encouraging its members to protest the DOJ's planned settlement with Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers LLC and Simon & Schuster Inc.
