Judge Trims Suit Alleging Faulty Rolls-Royce Engines

Law360, Los Angeles (June 5, 2012, 5:50 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge on Monday pared claims from a whistleblower complaint accusing Rolls-Royce Corp. of concealing defects in aircraft engines used by the U.S. military, but rejected the company's bid to toss additional claims brought by one of two former employees who filed suit.

U.S. District Judge William T. Lawrence dismissed allegations that Rolls-Royce hid quality control records from the government and provided falsified compliance certificates related to the engines, ruling those claims failed to satisfy pleading standards under the False Claims Act.
