Madoff Trustee Launches $800 Million In Clawback Suits

Law360, New York (June 6, 2012, 8:54 PM EDT) -- The trustee in charge of recovering funds for victims of Bernard L. Madoff's Ponzi scheme filed a number of clawback suits worth more than $800 million in New York bankruptcy court Wednesday, just before a statute of limitations expires.

The frenzy of suits was filed by trustee Irving Picard just under the wire to predate Thursday's one-year anniversary of the approval of a settlement between Picard and liquidators for Fairfield Sentry, a major Madoff feeder fund, which set the clock ticking on a statute of limitations....
