Jamestown’s Plan To Expand NYC Landmark Moves Ahead

Law360, New York (June 7, 2012, 5:03 PM EDT) -- New York City's Community Board 4 voted late Wednesday to recommend approval of Jamestown Properties' controversial 300,000-square-foot expansion plan for Manhattan's iconic Chelsea Market with modifications that include removing a hotel from the proposal and adding affordable housing units.

Chelsea Market occupies 1.1 million square feet between 15th and 16th Streets on the West Side of Manhattan. Atlanta-based Jamestown Properties plans to build 240,000 square feet of new office space above the 10th Avenue portion of the market and a 90,000-square-foot addition to the Ninth Avenue...
