ITC Judge Chucks 5 HTC Patent Claims In Apple Imports Row

Law360, New York (June 11, 2012, 4:13 PM EDT) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge on Friday tossed most of HTC Corp.'s suit accusing Apple Inc. of infringing eight HTC patents by importing products like the iPhone and iPad.

Administrative Law Judge Thomas B. Pender issued a confidential ruling granting Apple's motion for partial termination of an ITC investigation into its alleged infringement of HTC's patents, dismissing HTC's claims on five patents for lack of standing.

The dismissed patents — U.S. Patent Numbers 6,473,006; 6,708,214; 6,868,283; 7,020,849; and 7,289,772 — were not included in HTC's...
