Campbell Pays $3.5M For NJ Sears Store In Redevelopment Plan

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 9:15 PM EDT) -- Campbell Soup Co. on Monday paid $3.5 million for the long-vacant Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail store adjacent to its world headquarters in Camden, N.J., ending litigation over the building and clearing the way for the food giant’s redevelopment of the land.

The food giant already has received state approvals to demolish the 80-year-old historically designated building to make room for a corporate office park it says will rejuvenate one of New Jersey’s most economically depressed cities.
