Slesinger Seeks To Reinstate Copyright Suit Vs. Disney

Law360, New York (May 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Stephen Slesinger Inc. has asked a California appeals to reinstate the company’s 14-year-old suit against Walt Disney Co. over copyrights and merchandising rights to Winnie the Pooh.

In March, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charles McCoy dismissed the company’s lawsuit after finding that the company unlawfully obtained confidential documents from Disney offices and trash.

The ruling ended the 13-year-old lawsuit , which alleged that Disney had not paid millions of dollars in royalties for Pooh movies released on DVD.
