Costner Untouchable In Baldwin's Cleanup Co. Suit, Jury Finds

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 1:57 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal jury on Thursday cleared Kevin Costner of duping fellow actor Stephen Baldwin and another investor out of their oil cleanup company interests while making a $52 million deal with BP PLC.

The verdict clearing Costner, his business partner Patrick Smith and their company WestPac Resources LLC — now known as Pacific West Resources LLC — of securities law violations, fraud and other claims followed a nine-day trial.
