$100M Sale Of Ventas Senior Housing Ends ALC Leasing Fight

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 9:08 PM EDT) -- Assisted Living Concepts Inc. said Monday that it will pay $100 million to acquire a dozen senior citizen communities it had previously leased from Ventas Inc. as part of a bid to settle Ventas' lawsuit over numerous citations ALC had received from state health regulators regarding the facilities.

The $100 million deal inked Friday puts to rest the lawsuit filed by the health care-focused real estate investment trust, which alleged that ALC violated its lease agreement with Ventas by failing to live up to state regulations...
