Ex-Empire Land CEO, Attys Escape Sanctions In Ch. 7 Row

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 9:01 PM EDT) -- Striking blows to both sides of a simmering bankruptcy dispute, a California judge Monday rejected motions by Empire Land LLC trustee Richard K. Diamond to sanction the real estate development company’s former CEO, James Previti, and his legal counsel, while simultaneously denying Previti’s own motion for leave to sue Diamond.

The two rulings came down Monday in the Central District of California, where U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mark Houle rejected Diamond’s claims that Previti’s attorneys should be sanctioned for improperly filing a motion for leave to sue...
