Transocean Says BP's Deepwater Chief Must Submit To Physical

Law360, New York (June 20, 2012, 8:09 PM EDT) -- Transocean Ltd. asked the Fifth Circuit on Monday to reject an attempt by a well-site leader for BP PLC to skirt a court-ordered physical examination meant to determine his fitness to testify in the ongoing Deepwater Horizon oil spill multidistrict litigation.

In a brief filed with the Fifth Circuit, Transocean claimed that a Louisiana federal judge did not err in her February order that Donald Vidrine, the well-site leader on duty for BP when the Deepwater rig exploded, undergo a physical examination.
