NJ Assembly Limits Perks At Bridge, Toll, Port Authorities

Law360, New York (June 21, 2012, 9:47 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Assembly on Thursday approved legislation designed to curtail excessive perks and compensation at the state's four bi-state transportation agencies.

The four-bill package, approved unanimously by the legislative body, spells out a litany of restriction aimed at cracking down on rampant waste at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Delaware River Port Authority, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, and the Delaware River and Bay Authority.

All agencies are funded largely through fares and tolls.
