Commerce Head Resigns Following Seizure, Car Crashes

Law360, New York (June 21, 2012, 1:15 PM EDT) -- John Bryson announced Thursday he would step down from his post as Secretary of Commerce following an incident earlier this month in which he suffered a seizure and was involved in a series of car accidents in Southern California.

In a letter to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s employees, Bryson, 68, said he needed to resign to “prevent distractions” to the work the agency does.
