Bayer Seeks Stay In Tainted Blood Products Suit

Law360, New York (September 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bayer Corp. has asked a federal judge to stay a product liability lawsuit brought by HIV-infected hemophiliacs in California while the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation considers whether to transfer the case to Illinois.

In court documents filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Bayer said that a stay of proceedings in that court, which retains jurisdiction until a panel transfer order is filed in the transferee district court, is warranted while the transfer is pending.
