Dole Recalls Poisoned Lettuce

Law360, New York (September 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dole Food Company Inc. has recalled bags of salad after discovering that they could be poisoned with the E. coli bacteria, triggering renewed fears almost a year after a major spinach recall.

Dole Fresh Vegetables, a Dole Food subsidiary, announced on Monday that it would be calling back all “Dole Hearts Delight” bags of mixed lettuce slated to expire on Sept. 19 after a random sampling test in a Canadian supermarket detected E. coli.
