Bristol, Sanofi Sued Over Allegedly Deceptive Plavix Marketing

Law360, New York (June 25, 2012, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Sanofi-Aventis US LLC on Friday removed to federal court a California county's suit accusing the drugmakers of deceptively marketing their blockbuster blood thinner Plavix, causing government health care providers to overpay for the drug.

Citing diversity jurisdiction and several federal issues brought up in the complaint, the drug makers moved the suit, filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court by the county on behalf of the state's residents, to California federal court.
