United Technologies To Pay $75M Over China Helicopter Exports

Law360, New York (June 28, 2012, 10:51 PM EDT) -- Connecticut-based defense contractor United Technologies Corp. and its units agreed Thursday to pay $75 million over charges that UTC unit Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. illegally exported military software from the U.S. that was used to develop China's first modern military attack helicopter.

PWC also pled guilty Thursday to violating the Arms Export Control Act and making false statements about its alleged illegal export of the software to China, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement.
