FDA Defends Delays Over Vioxx Documents

Law360, New York (September 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has sought to stay a lawsuit which accuses the agency of unreasonable delays in producing documents requested by the plaintiffs for use in hundreds of cases filed against Merck & Co. Inc. over Vioxx.

The FDA filed court papers in a New Jersey federal court on Thursday in support of its motion to stay the lawsuit filed by Eric Weinberg, who has filed more than 300 lawsuits on behalf of alleged Vioxx victims on personal injury and wrongful death claims....
