General Mills Says Any Idiot Knows Fruit Roll-Ups Aren't Fruit

Law360, New York (July 3, 2012, 6:30 PM EDT) -- General Mills Inc. asked a federal judge in California on Monday to kill a proposed deceptive advertising class action, saying reasonable consumers wouldn't assume the company's Fruit Roll-Ups and Fruit By The Foot are made entirely of real fruit.

In its motion to dismiss, the food giant argued that anyone would know the snacks were treats and had never been presented to the market otherwise, despite claims to the contrary.
