Paramount Dodges New 'Hustle And Flow' Fraud Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (July 5, 2012, 2:49 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Thursday again rejected fraud claims in filmmaker John Singleton's contract suit alleging Paramount Pictures Corp. never intended to fulfill its promise to finance two of his future film projects when acquiring the 2005 movie "Hustle and Flow."

Judge Amy D. Hogue nixed Singleton's claims for promissory fraud and rescission, saying the lawsuit currently lacks facts to support the contention that Paramount had no intent to make good on its deal. The ruling comes months after Judge Hogue tossed similar fraud accusations...
