Quantlab Ducks Claims In Stock Trading Software IP Fight

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 8:05 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Tuesday threw out all but one counterclaim filed by a competitor of Quantlab Technologies Ltd. that is being sued by the stock trading company for allegedly stealing proprietary software that cost $100 million to develop.

U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison dismissed claims for defamation and tortious interference with business relations brought by SXP Analytics LLC and Emmanuel Mamalakis, but allowed a claim for malicious prosecution to survive finding that SXP's petition alleged facts sufficient to support the cause of action....
