Facebook Spared Sanctions In Pragmatus Patent Fight

Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 1:30 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc. avoided sanctions Thursday in an infringement suit against it over two real-time communication patents, with a California federal magistrate judge saying Facebook had justifiably delayed the production of a set of documents.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal issued an order denying patent-holding company Pragmatus AV LLC's motion for sanctions over Facebook's alleged failure to provide on time certain evidence that Pragmatus requested related to a Facebook motion for a protective order.
