Royal Shakespeare Co. Wins EU Trademark Battle

Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 12:24 PM EDT) -- A European Union court said Friday that an Austrian beverage manufacturer didn't have a valid claim to the mark “Royal Shakespeare,” upholding a trademark office ruling that the drinkmaker was trying to exploit the reputation of the famous British theater company.
