Import Bans On Essential Patents Must Be Rare, Officials Say

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 7:48 PM EDT) -- As a U.S. trade agency weighs Google Inc.'s bid to ban imports of Apple Inc.'s iPhone and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox, government officials told lawmakers at a congressional hearing Wednesday that products found to infringe standard-essential patents should be barred from the market only in rare instances.
