Lawyers Accused Of Impropriety In KPMG Case

Law360 (September 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoping to throw some mud in the other counsel's direction, the prosecutors involved in the case over an alleged tax shelter scam developed by accounting firm KPMG are now claiming that the defense lawyers are guilty of engineering a secret joint defense agreement.

On Friday, the New York Times reported that government officials are claiming that lawyers Steve Bauer and David Scheper advised Presidio Groth LLC employee David Amir Makov while representing other Presidio defendants.
