Advocates Seek To Stop NJ Seizure Of $161M In Housing Funds

Law360, New York (July 9, 2012, 5:13 PM EDT) -- An affordable housing advocacy group on Friday asked a New Jersey appellate court to stop the state from seizing some $161 million towns have collected for affordable housing initiatives, saying the state hasn't provided the information towns need to meet a “use-it-or-lose-it” deadline next week.

The Fair Share Housing Center, joined by the state League of Municipalities, seeks an injunction that would stop the seizures scheduled to take place July 17, giving towns more time to use the funds collected from developers under state fair housing...
