EEOC Sues Adelphi U. For Gender Discrimination

Law360, New York (September 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has accused Adelphi University of paying female faculty members less than their male counterparts of similar qualification and seniority in a lawsuit brought on behalf of a putative class.

The EEOC filed its complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. It brought a count of gender discrimination in pay under the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
