Chinese DVD Makers Expand Antitrust Suit Against DVD Patent Pool

Law360, New York (June 20, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Chinese DVD makers have expanded a lawsuit that seeks to break up an international patent-pool licensing group controlled by some of the world’s largest electronics makers.

The amended complaint has been expanded from seven to nine causes of action and is “far more specific in its allegations of unlawful conduct by the 4C Patent Group,” according to Handal & Associates, the plaintiffs’ law firm.

The lawsuit targets the 4C Patent Group, a licensing group consisting of global electronics giants Sony Corporation, Philips Electronics, the Pioneer Corporation...
