Gov't Says Galleon-Linked Fund Chief Admitted Insider Trading

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 9:57 PM EDT) -- Accused inside trader Doug Whitman admitted to receiving material, nonpublic information about Polycom Inc. and Google Inc. in a pair of 2010 proffer sessions with prosecutors, the government said in a filing Monday.

Whitman, the head of California-based Whitman Capital LLC, told prosecutors during two December 2010 proffer sessions that he had received inside information about the two companies, they said in a brief to U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff.
