Amaranth Says Would-Be Dreier Adviser Has Privileged Info

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 6:10 PM EDT) -- Amaranth Partners LLC asked a New York bankruptcy court Tuesday not to let defunct law firm Dreier LLP's trustee hire a consultant who has previously advised Amaranth to consult on an adversary suit over $28 million allegedly transferred to Amaranth as part of Dreier's founder's Ponzi scheme.

Amaranth said Chapter 11 trustee Sheila M. Gowan should not be able to retain Boris Onefater of Constellation Investment Consulting Corp. as a special litigation adviser and potential testifying expert, arguing that Onefater and Constellation consulted for Amaranth CEO...
