CW, MTV Didn't Steal Reality Makeover Show Idea, Judge Says

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 12:24 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday shut down a copyright lawsuit that accused the CW Television Network and MTV Networks Enterprises Inc. of stealing the concept for makeover show "Plain Jane."

U.S. District Judge John Walter said plaintiff Elissa Tedesco, who claimed the networks ripped off her treatment for a similar reality show, had failed to clear even the most basic hurdles for a copyright claim.
