No More Prison For Ex-McKinsey Consultant, Attys Urge

Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 7:30 PM EDT) -- An ex-McKinsey & Co. consultant whose conviction for violating a trade embargo against Iran was vacated by the Second Circuit deserves no prison time for false statement convictions the appeals court left intact, his counsel told a New York federal judge on Thursday.

Mahmoud Reza Banki was sentenced to 30 months in prison in August 2010 after being found guilty on five charges, including violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and Iranian Trade Regulations, running an unlicensed money transmitting business and conspiracy.
