Lloyd's Underwriters Want Others To Share Builder's Claims

Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 9:20 PM EDT) -- Lloyd's of London underwriters sued several other insurance providers in California state court Thursday for allegedly failing to provide coverage to structural engineering firm Khatri International Inc., leaving Lloyd's footing a large legal bill to defend one of Khatri's projects.

The U.K.-headquartered firm's insurance underwriters say they've been left holding a hefty $1 million legal bill alone, when a half dozen other insurers had contractual duties to also help Khatri and its principal, Dilip Khatri, defend themselves in a long, drawn-out court case over allegedly botching...
