RFID Patent Unenforceable, Judge Says

Law360, New York (October 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Texas judge in charge of a patent infringement and unfair competition case has ruled that a patent relating to radio frequency identification technology is unenforceable due to inequitable conduct on the part of plaintiff Avid Identification Systems Inc.

Friday, U.S. District Judge T. John Ward handed down a nine-page memorandum opinion and order granting a June 20, 2006 motion submitted by defendants Datamars SA and The Crystal Import Corp.
