State Farm Seeks To Avoid Sandusky Defense Costs

Law360, New York (July 23, 2012, 2:08 PM EDT) -- State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. last week sought to distance itself from the child molestation scandal involving Pennsylvania State University’s former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, saying it has no responsibility to defend him in criminal or civil proceedings.

The company said in a complaint filed July 18 that it issued homeowner and limited personal liability policies to Sandusky and his wife which don't cover cases stemming from Sandusky's offenses.
