Ira Glass Says Podcast Copying 'This American Life' Mark

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 2:02 PM EDT) -- The broadcaster and host of “This American Life” on Wednesday fired off a lawsuit in Virginia federal court accusing a software company that operates a similarly titled podcast of infringing trademarks related to the radio program.

Chicago Public Media Inc. and TAL host Ira Glass said that consumer software company Immersonal Inc.'s “This American Startup” podcast infringes trademarks utilized by TAL for nearly 20 years, confusing the general public and diluting the strength of the program's brand.
