EMI, Grooveshark Owner Drop Copyright Licensing Deal Suit

Law360, New York (July 26, 2012, 8:28 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Monday signed off on an agreement to toss out a suit launched by EMI Music Inc. alleging the parent of online music streaming service Grooveshark failed to meet the terms of a promissory note that kicked in after the two resolved an earlier copyright row.

Judge Eileen Bransten approved a joint motion to voluntarily dismiss the case with prejudice, with each side covering its own costs and attorneys' fees. Details of any agreement between the parties were not immediately available....
