Helicopter Cos. Shake Price-Fixing Case In 3rd Circ.

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 6:06 PM EDT) -- The Third Circuit upheld a decision Friday to toss a proposed class action alleging Bristow Group Inc. and other offshore helicopter services providers violated the Sherman Act by fixing prices for flights to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

A three-judge panel sided with a lower court's June 2011 ruling granting summary judgment to the defendants, finding that Superior Offshore International Inc. had provided only vague evidence that was inadequate to support its conspiracy allegations.
