Investment Co.'s Suit Over 'Love Ranch' Profits Rides On

Law360, Los Angeles (July 27, 2012, 5:28 PM EDT) -- A California judge on Friday refused to toss a case over “Love Ranch,” a 2010 drama starring Helen Mirren, saying she would need to take a look at a financing agreement to decide on a German investment company's claims that Aramid Entertainment Fund Ltd. owes it money from the film.

Judge Mary H. Strobel rejected claims that the lawsuit brought by Film & Entertainment VIP Medienfonds 3 GMBH & Co. KG was barred because the company's security interest had been discharged in a previous foreclosure sale....
