Judge Pares Neutrogena Natural False Ad Claims

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 12:11 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Friday eliminated all but one Neutrogena Corp. beauty product at issue in a proposed class action alleging the company deceptively marketed as “natural” a line of cosmetic cleansers that contain artificial and synthetic ingredients.

Neutrogena successfully argued that claims relating to five of six products alleged to be falsely advertised should be dismissed for lack of standing because plaintiff Desiree Stephenson only purchased one of them, according to U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton’s order.
