Texas OKs $198M For Austin Highway Toll Expansion

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 5:24 PM EDT) -- The Texas Department of Transportation on Thursday gave initial approval to $197.6 million in financing for the addition of two express toll lanes along a heavily congested Austin highway, with construction expected to begin next year.

The DOT gave its initial nod to an agreement that will put an additional $130 million of funding into the MoPac Improvement Project, which will add an express toll lane to each side of the highway along 11 miles where the road has had some of its worst traffic. It...
