Senate Defense Bill Adds Funds For Navy, Air Guard

Law360, New York (July 31, 2012, 4:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate's defense appropriations subcommittee passed its markup of the 2013 military spending bill on Tuesday, reorganizing the U.S. Department of Defense's requested $604.5 billion to include more funds for Navy shipbuilding and support for the Air National Guard.

Unlike its counterpart in the U.S. House of Representatives, which added additional funds beyond what the DOD requested, the Senate National Defense Appropriations Bill matched the DOD's request and is consistent with defense spending caps in the Budget Control Act, according to subcommittee chairman Daniel K....
