BofA Asks To Limit Discovery In Parmalat MDL

Law360, New York (October 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bank of America Corp. has asked for a protective order limiting the testimonies of two witnesses in the Parmalat SpA securities litigation, hoping to keep other parties in the multidistrict litigation from also using the information they divulge.

The bank's two witnesses are scheduled to testify on Oct. 10 in the lawsuit filed by John Hancock Life Insurance Co. Unless their testimony is restricted to that particular case, BofA worries that other plaintiffs in the MDL will take the opportunity to pose their own questions, effectively...
