CORRECTED: Judge Trims Negligence Claims Against PwC

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 5:11 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday trimmed putative class action negligence claims aimed at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and other auditors over investments in feeder funds to Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero denied PwC's motions for reconsideration in part, rejecting the auditing company's arguments that under recent Second Circuit decisions dismissing negligence claims brought by Madoff feeder fund investors, the plaintiffs' negligence and duty of care claims against the auditor and the other defendants should also be dismissed.
