Staffing Co. Randstad Pays $5M To Exit Pay, Break Suit

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 1:24 PM EDT) -- Staffing company Randstad US LP has struck a $4.9 million settlement in a class action brought in California federal court on behalf of hundreds of workers who allegedly were misclassified and didn't get overtime pay or meal periods, the plaintiff said Tuesday.

The deal, which covers Randstad US LP, Randstad General Partner (US) LLC and related entities, as well as some 650 class members, is fair and reasonable, the plaintiff said in a motion seeking preliminary approval of the pact.
