Herbalife Heir Tries To Shake Malicious-Prosecution Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (August 8, 2012, 8:26 PM EDT) -- Brentwood Legal Services LLP and the heir to Herbalife International Inc. urged a California state judge on Wednesday to toss a malicious-prosecution lawsuit brought by prominent entertainment attorney Hillel Chodos, who they had at one time accused of charging excessive fees while handling Herbalife's founder's $360 million estate.

Attorney Reza Sina, who is representing Brentwood Legal Services, told Judge Soussan G. Bruguera that Chodos' lawsuit, brought in April, is barred under California's anti-Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation, or anti-SLAPP, law.
