Judge Questions Doping Agency Charges Against Armstrong

Law360, Houston (August 10, 2012, 9:12 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday questioned the legitimacy of a proceeding by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that could strip cyclist Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles, in a hearing to determine whether to again throw out a countersuit Armstrong brought to stop the agency.

U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks said “something stinks” about the USADA’s refusal to allow an international cycling authority to handle the case and pressed the USADA for the vagueness of its charging letter against Armstrong.
